Our story

1955 FOUNDING PAMO

Two friends, Paul Tilley and Raymond, found Metaalwerken Pamo.

Very shortly after the start-up of the business activities (three months), Raymond leaves the activities, after which Paul Tilley continues the business together with his wife.

The original business activity of Metaalwerken Pamo is mainly focused on the maintenance of machines and company machines. Only later will the activities become as we know them today: manufacturing of supports for high voltage and electricity posts, maintenance and modification of the machinery of a multinational (pharmaceutical sector), specific metalworking and custom constructions.

In the early 1970s the couple decided to transfer their sole proprietorship into a partnership. On October 18, 1972, the P.V.B.A. Pamo Metaalwerken founded.

1986 METAALWERKEN PAMO N.V.

In this year the company is transformed into a public limited company and the sons, Mark and Dirk Tilley (respectively working in the company since 1977 and 1983), are appointed as directors of the company.

2006 FREDERICK POLLET TAKES OVER

At the age of 78, founder Paul Tilley leaves his company to the young ir. Frederick Pollet.

2009 RENEWAL CAR FLEET

Part of the fleet is being renewed. The new truck with a crane, with swing limitation, and height limiter in particular is undoubtedly a winner in the field of safe and flexible working, lifting and mounting.

2010 NEW BENCH

Purchase of a new LVD bending machine to strengthen the machinery.

2013 NEW FIRE CUTTING MACHINE

In November 2013, a new CNC cutting machine of the brand Microstep is put into use.

2015 START CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Start of the construction of a new modern commercial building that will enable future expansion.

2016 MOVE TO NEW LOCATION

Move to the new location in the Bosveld industrial zone in Dendermonde. The surface area will almost be tripled: from 5,000 m² to more than 15,000 m².

2017 FUTURE MINDED

Purchase of an additional 7,000 m² of industrial land to enable expansion in the future.
Later that year, Pamo Metaalwerken obtains its VCA certificate and the EN1090 EXC2 welding certificate.

2019 PAMO IS GROWING

Pamo Metaalwerken exceeds the threshold of 30 employees. At the beginning of 2019, the website was adapted with the renewed look & feel.

2021 PAMO PART OF OCTOPUS CAPITAL

PAMO Metaalconstructies & Engineering has been an official part of Octopus Capital since 2021. Although the companies have been connected for a long time through Frederick Pollet's partnership, they now have their own, recognizable identity as a group. Together we focus more on innovation and growth, with a solid foundation for the future.

2021 INTRODUCING OUR OPERATIONAL MANAGER

Introducing engineer Steven De Backer as the operational manager: he takes over the day-to-day management from Frederick Pollet, who remains the business manager. In this way he can make more time for business development and new investments.

These investments underline PAMO's commitment to innovation and quality in the metalworking industry. Our focus remains on delivering the best solutions for our customers.

Engineer Ferhat Kaya joins the PAMO team as Tender Manager.

2024 ACQUISITION OF AMS NV BY OCTOPUS CAPITAL

With the acquisition of AMS by Octopus Capital, we at PAMO are significantly strengthening our capabilities. Both companies complement each other: where AMS excels in more refined customization and specialized projects, PAMO offers expertise in large, sturdy metal constructions. This collaboration enables us to leverage each other's services and provide a broader range of products to our customers. By joining forces, we can handle even larger and more complex projects.

2024 FREDERICK POLLET PASSES ON THE LEAD TO STEVEN DE BACKER & FERHAT KAYA

Since 2006, Frederick Pollet has worked with dedication and pride on the growth of PAMO, resulting in a tripling of the number of employees and a quadrupling of the turnover. The future of PAMO is built on a solid foundation of innovation and modernization, with investments in a new workshop and advanced technology such as a welding robot.

In order to further support this growth, Frederick Pollet has decided to spend more time on strategic advice and investments within Octopus Capital, the group that PAMO is part of. Therefore, Steven De Backer and Ferhat Kaya will jointly take over the daily management of PAMO.

Frederick will remain involved in the strategic direction and investments of the company, and is ready to support the team with his many years of experience. Together with Steven and Ferhat, we will continue to build on the further growth of PAMO Metaalconstructies & Engineering.
